Supporting AAC Users in the Classroom

This professional development session focused on building educator capacity to intentionally model Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) within everyday classroom activities using ChatEditor, while maintaining alignment with the Alberta Programs of Study and inclusive education practices. Participants explored how AAC can be meaningfully embedded across instructional contexts to support language, literacy, and curriculum access for students with complex communication needs.
In addition, the session introduces educators to leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) as a planning support tool for AAC implementation.
