Implementing the New Grade 4 Social Studies Curriculum

This  session is designed to help teachers confidently implement the New Grade 4 Social Studies curriculum this September. Participants will work through the Learn It, Explore It, Use It structure, experiencing how knowledge, understanding, skills, and procedures (KUSPs) come together through active, inquiry-based learning.
Teachers will learn the architecture of their grade-level curriculum and how the year unfolds, explore the ready-to-use lesson progressions, student materials, slide decks, and Edwin resources, and use the supports through hands-on experiences that model what students will do in the classroom.
By the end of the session, teachers will leave with a clear understanding of the curriculum design and practical experience using the full year of 100% ready-to-go resources.

This interactive session will showcase how communication devices can be integrated into the classroom to support curriculum access, facilitate engaging conversations, and ensure that communication is inclusive for all students. What to Expect: Hands-On Activities: Engage with the latest AAC devices and see firsthand how they can be utilized to support student learning and interaction. Participants will explore  grade‑level highlights and examine how early tasks and routines build strong learning conditions. A guided walkthrough of the grade‑level teacher guide (covering all KUSPs) highlights practical strategies and resources to support inclusive classrooms where all students feel seen and heard.
