This session is all about experiencing the learning for yourself. We will explore a variety of simple yet carefully crafted fraction cards,through interactive activities, problem solving and conversations that make fraction concepts visible and accessible! Along the way, we’ll make natural connections to unit fractions, equivalency, operations, decimals and percentages, helping students see how it all fits together.

This session supports Grade 4–6 teachers in strengthening nonfiction reading within the new Social Studies curriculum. Participants will explore how Edwin’s informational texts combined with non fiction reading skills can deepen inquiry, build content knowledge, and develop students’ skills with text features, vocabulary, and multiple‑source comprehension. The session highlights practical strategies for integrating more nonfiction into daily instruction and inquiry tasks, helping students become confident, critical readers of real‑world information.
