This session brings clarity to what reading looks like in Kindergarten to Grade 3 through the lens of the Alberta ELAL curriculum. Together, we’ll unpack grade-level reading expectations, explore what students should know and be able to do within each organizing idea, and examine how assessment, texts, and instructional tools can help build a clear profile of a reader. Teachers will leave with a stronger understanding of how to identify student strengths, determine next steps, and support reading over the course of the year with clarity and purpose.
